Body Fat% is way off

Body Fat% is double what other scales and meters (Omron) even after changing activity level to 10.

  • Same probs as Index 1 and with Index 1 Fat % was wrong and stuck at the same level.  My Aldi scale was more accurate.   I returned my Index 1.

  • Same here, with Tanita and Inbody I get around 14%, Index 2 shows 24%... almost double... even with activity level at 10. Actually changing activity level seems not to affect the measurements at all.

  • I'm returning this scale.  Not only is the %fat almost double compared to my other scales, the values it calculates pre and post workouts is not correct.  Weight loss during workouts is almost all water.  The Tanita isn't much better and the Withings only calculates body fat.  However the Withings will appropriately INCREASE the body fat after a workout.  The Garmin and Tanita are all over the place.  The Tanita, however calculates the correct body fat.  Oh well, the connectivity of the scale will be missed.

  • the same: i am 1,80 height, 67 km, and Index signs 20%: the double! even after changing

  • About 4 days ago, I also bought the S2, nothing really matches, compared to at least 5 scales from other brands, in all of them my weight is between 66.6 kg and 66.9 kg, with S2 my weight is of 69.2 in an average of 4 weighings, and I also have 19.8% fat mass, which is also more than double the average of the other scales, and which is completely wrong, I am 1.76cm tall and with 67 approximately never can give these values.

  • I'm having the same issue. It put me consistently at 28% body fat regardless of the activity level setting. This is 13 percent higher than my last Dexa scan.  Garmin told me to return the scale because it must be faulty.

  • The question is... then they will collect all the scales and replace them all, from what I see there is not one that is good ... from what I see all users complain, but I also think that the results are presented by algorithm and there may be an error in the programming , and I think a software update is enough

  • When I asked the CSR if it could be fixed with a software update, they said to just return the scale because it was new and shouldn't be doing this.  The CSR spoke with techs who didn't believe anything was wrong with the firmware or algorithms of the scale.  I returned it and will wait to see if this can be resolved before purchasing it again.  Specifically for me, the body fat % was way too high and would not change regardless of the activity level selected.

  • I've been using Garmin products for a long time and this doesn't surprise me.  They make a product that works for large percentage of users and is totally out to lunch for a smaller percentage.  My scale is on the way back to them now.  I used my Withings scale today.  Weight before workout 182.7, BF%12.2.  After the workout 182.0, BF12.7%.  The fat percentage change represents 0.9lbs and I lost 0.7lbs during the workout.  Pretty accurate and this without entering any parameters (ie activity level, athlete/non athlete...etc)
