Difficult to wake it up

Index 1 you simply steo on to ware it up.. Index 2, you need to tap or kick it: it's quite difficoult, i need to try several times to wake it up! It's froustrating!

  • I have not tried kicking it, but I might if I keep gaining weight.Joy I pick it up for 1 second and that wakes it up.

  • solved: you have to kick it, not just toucht

  • I just firmly tap the middle with my foot & it wakes just fine

  • Please explain what you mean with "kick", because for me it's IMPOSSIBLE to wake it up. I have to shake it with my hands to wake it. No matter how or where I step on it it doesn't wake up

  • Yeah, it sounds defective... I literally just have to tap it with a toe and it will wake up.  :(

  • I also had initially difficulties to wake it up (got mine just yesterday) - until I found out that "tapping" should rather be called "knocking". Try knocking with your finger on the scale as if you were knocking on a door, that should wake it up. Then try the knocking with your big toe ;-)

It's not necessary to knock hard! But there has to be some "knocking-sound", otherwise it is too soft.

It will not help to put softly high loads on it!

    Good luck!

  • I find that it's not usually as easy as simply tapping with a toe, although sometimes that does it.  I generally kind of slap it, not really hard, with my forefoot and it wakes up.  I don't find it too difficult but occasionally I have to do it more than once.  I can, however, use my toe to tap through the widgets.  Doesn't seem to be as difficult to do that.

  • Mine got more and more difficult until it just completely died. I only used it 5 times before it refused to come on ever again. To their credit Garmin offered to replace it, but the scale is out of stock until at least December so I'm out of luck for now.

  • Just got mine yesterday. This morning, I tried everything to wake it up and couldn't. Then a few minutes later, I tapped it with my toe and it woke up. I hope it gets more consistent, because I don't have 5 minutes to spend every morning trying to wake up my scale.

  • As an update, I received shipping confirmation for my replacement scale the day they received the defective one, so kudos to Garmin for the fast response. Fingers crossed this one is better!
