Bounce watch with family mobile plan or forced Garmin subscription?

On the product pages for the Bounce 1 and Bounce 2 watches, it says: "No need to switch phone providers." With our current provider, we have a family plan that gives us up to 4 numbers without extra costs - perfect for two parents + two kids. But the page also says "subscription plan required", which links to an €11/month Garmin plan.

Does this watch take a SIM or eSIM from our existing provider ("no need to switch") and the Garmin plan is just one offer I could consider, or are we required to use that Garmin plan? That was not clear from the product page.

  • Hello!

The Garmin Bounce watches don’t take a SIM or eSIM from your own provider; they have a built‑in eSIM that only works with Garmin’s subscription plan. The “no need to switch providers” line means your phone plan stays as it is, but the watch itself requires Garmin’s €11/month EZ Pass WV plan for its calling, messaging, and tracking features. Without that plan, the watch only works for basic offline functions.
