Garmin Bounce - Messages from my samsung phone to the watch

We just purchased the Garmin Bounce for my son.  When he sends a message from the watch it reaches my phone right away (I have a samsung)! However, when I reply or send him a message from my phone app, it takes up to 30-45mins for him to see/get notified of the message.  Is this an LTE situation, a watch issue or is this the reality of the watch?  The LTE shows only 1 bar on it but we live in a very good area that connection is never an issue?  Clearly because when he sends me a msg, I get it right away.  He is just not getting my responses.  Plus the Location and Live Tracking works perfectly fine.  Thoughts, suggestions, troubleshooting?  Thanks.

  • I had the same issue. It seems the watch can send out messages okay but the watch doesn't receive them in a timely manner. It can take an hour or more. Unless we send a message from the watch to the app, then the messages from app to watch flood in on the watch. I've done research and it seems a lot of people have this issue. Garmin support said it doesn't sound like an LTE problem since it sends one way no issue. I just returned the watch. 

  • I bought the Garmin Bounce in January 2024 - it presents many problems; live tracking is not working at all. When I try to send messages from any mobile phone in the family to the Garmin Bounce, the phone says that it has been sent, but it has not been delivered at all - or it reaches the watch only after a long time. The watch is updated to the latest version (8.20), but it has never worked with any previous firmware. I am very disappointed by Garmin here since the product is entirely unreliable. Garmin, please contact me by email if you can offer any support. I am located in Italy.
