Am i the only one whose bounce display brightness setting isn’t doing anything?

Hi,

i just received my daughter’s bounce yesterday, and so far the watch is a mess.

I tried to set the brightness of the watches display, when i noticed no matter what setting i set it to, the display brightness stays the same.

also, when i tried the emergency function by pressing the upper button for 5 seconds, the watch is starting the countdowns just to stop at 1 second remaining doing nothing.

after that, the watch is crashing if i try it again by pressing the button 5 seconds.

However, if i use the emergency function using the touchscreen, it seems to work just fine.

Also, the LTE coverage seems to be pretty bad in Germany, since the watch pretty often has no signal at all.

I owned a few Garmin Watches over the years, but this one seems particularly messy.

I'm wondering, if those bugs are software related, or if my watch us faulty.

  • I just tested the brightness on both of our Bounces and it works but takes a good couple of seconds to respond.

    I have not tried the emergency thing because I was afraid it would also notify the Garmin response center like the 945 LTE does.

    Is that not the case?

    No. To notify the Garmin Response Center you would need a watch that has a cellular connection, like the 945 LTE or a Garmin InReach device. However, if you have an active LTE subscription and you have guardians or caregivers setup in the "Garmin Jr. Family," those contacts will receive an alert email and/or text that you may be in need of help. You have 10 seconds to cancel the alert.

    Requesting Assistance
    Assistance notifications are sent to guardians and caregivers in your Garmin Jr. family (Adding Members to a Garmin Jr. Family).

    Hold Letter A symbol.
    When you feel three vibrations, release the button to activate the assistance feature.
    The countdown screen appears.

    TIP: Before the countdown is complete, you can select Cancel to cancel the request.

    i just tried the brightness setting again and waited a few seconds, but still.. no changes in brightness at all..

    maybe I’m doing something wrong? You just have to tap on one of the 3 brightness tiles and you should see a difference, right?

    i just found out why the emergency thing is not working for me. Its because i activated auto lock on the bounce. And the auto lock kicks in 1 second before the 10 second countdown is finished in order to trigger the emergency thing (when activated via the 5 second press of the top button). It seems the auto lock interferes somehow with the feature because of a bug.

    when i turn of the auto lock feature, the emergency thing is working as intended.

    Garmin should address this..

    now i still need to know why my brightness setting doesn’t do anything..
