520 Compatibility

Is the Varia Radar going to report and display on the screen of the 520? Or will I need to mount the Varia Head Unit as well?

For this Q3 i read.

From Garmin International. The software for 520 and Varia support will be available as soon as possible.

and I ordered it because they were supposed to be compatible and now that I have both I get to wait for a software update. Not a happy shopper.

Same here, salesman at Garmin Store guaranteed that it would be compatible. Even showed me the web page with the 810 listed!

I also saw a page with a list of devices (including the 810) but I haven't been able to find it lately (which is a bit of a worry).

Is there any update on this? I have both devices and it is odd to roll out hardware prior to having the software ready. The radar is only useful for the person riding behind me because he can tell me when there is a car back.

Varia Compatability

Had email from Garmin confirming Varia WILL be compatable with 510 via firmware update so it seems they are supporting most EDGE gps's
