Bug with Peloton mode on Varia Vue 820 with an Edge?

I've just upgraded from an RTL515 to the Varia Vue 820. The behaviour with the swipe down control on an Edge 840 seems different though. 

With the 515, I left it in Auto and if I was riding in a group I would press the button for Peloton. And then cancel override when I was on my own again and I would return to Auto mode.

With the new Varia, I now have to press the button twice.  If you are in Auto and you press Peloton, it instead goes to Individual mode.  You then have to press the Peloton button again.  

Also, when you cancel override, it now stays in Individual mode and you have to manually return on Auto mode.

I notice that if you choose Flash as the override, it's stays in Auto mode. But if you choose Solid or Off, the behaviour is the same as Peloton.  

Is anybody else seeing this behaviour?  Is it a bug?

    I'm experiencing the same issue. Only the individual light mode is functioning, and the lights do not flash; they remain either solid or off. This is very annoying.

     ,  and  - can you please confirm the software version your Varia RearVue is running and if you're still experiencing this behavior? It should be 6.34, which was released 2/25/26.

    Yes, it was updated when purchased. It has 6.34 installed

    I just updated the 820 to 6.34 and I still have this problem.  I have also tired factory resetting it and that did not fix it.

    I am also encountering the same bug in SW 6.34 on an Edge 840 (beta SW 31.23). I included a screen recording of it. With the light mode under Network options set to "Auto", every selection in the light widget excluding "Flash" will result in the light widget switching from Auto to Individual mode within a couple of seconds, with the cancel override button disappearing. When it switches to Individual mode, the actual light on the RearVue 820 goes back to flashing. Flash mode is the only selection that does not cause the Light Mode to switch to Individual and the Cancel Override button remains.

    If the Light Mode under Network Options is Individual instead of Auto, switching to the various light mode using the Light widget appears to be working correctly.
