Varia Rearview 820 radar not working

Where did you find 6.33? I'm not seeing it on Varia app

I have the European version (820StVZO). Maybe there are differences?

Ok, now tested outdoors: YES! A working radar!

Has the latest firmware been removed?  When I check for updates, with version 6.23.0, it says the firmware is up to date.  

Remove the numbers (only gupdate.gcd should remain) and copy it to the main /Garmin directory after connecting to your computer. After copying, disconnect the device from your computer.

Thanks a lot Artur, all working now after your help!   If 6.32 is working then its something we all did with the install. I used the iOS Varia app & I suspect I pressed a button thinking it was finished. If this was the case for everyone else (there will be 10x more not in here) then the Varia phone app & Garmin Express might need a way to reinstall FW?  Or perhaps some better graphics on the quickstart quide to say that once the download graphics end (that look like a regular installation progress bar), that you still need to wait for some long minutes for the green/light green flashes to turn just green....to make it idiot proof :-) 

I'm having the same issue - took mine out of the box, paired it to my 1040, formed the light network and the tail light is operational, as expected. The radar isn't displaying whatsoever. Firmware is current, 1040's firmware is current, I've paired it to the Varia app on my phone, and dug through the data screens on my 1040. Nothing.

The solution for me was to re-install the firmware manually via a PC/Mac and the USBC cable. Artur posted a link to the firmware a few posts above.

1 Make sure you can see the Varia listed as a hard drive first.

2 You need to rename the firmware file (remove the dash and numbering at the end).

3 The transfer the renamed firmware file to the GARMIN folder on the Varia (will take quite a long time even though the size is very small).

3 Then unplug the cable, the flashing green yellow light will automatically start & really wait for some long minutes for the flashing to turn solid green… you should be good then!

Did you also pair the radar? The light network is I think a separate option (you can adjust the lights etc while riding). Pairing the radar also does the light network.  I think most of us have or had a Radar initialising error message on the edge. If you have that then you could try the firmware reinstall method from Artur above.
