Varia Vue unlocked clips download question

I did my first ride with the Varia Vue  today. It has the latest version software v5.30 and I installed and formatted a 512 GB memory card. It captured great footage of a vehicle harassing our bike group. I captured the video from both my RCT 715 and the Varia Vue. I have a Varia Vault subscription but I cannot get the Varia Vue to download the videos to the Gallery as required via the Varia App to then upload them to the Vault. The videos from the RCT 715 do download correctly.

I suspect the issue is the file size of the videos. They are in 10 minute clips at about 330 mb. The shorter 1 minute clips do download from the Vue!  My cell running the Varia app is a Samsung S23 with the latest Android version. I'm curious if others are having the same issue.

FYI,
The ride was 36 miles and the Varia Vue was set for continuous recording @ 1080P 60FPS. The ride time was 1 hour 46 minutes. The total memory card usage was 20 gb.

  • From what DC Rainmaker described, the only videos downloaded to the online storage are those that you either create on demand or are saved because the Garmin thinks there was an incident. This makes the $10/month we pay for that storage seem more than a bit steep; GoPro costs half as much and downloads everything recorded.

You can, of course, still download them from the card itself.

  • From what I see first hand is the Varia App needs to download the videos to the cell phones gallery first, then you can initiate the upload to the vault. But, the 10 minute clips are too large.  I've found that by moving the video files from the unsaved folder to the saved or event folder, the Varia Vue will auto upload them to the vault while the device is charging as long as you have your wifi configured in the Varia Vue itself.
I've canceled my vault subscription after less than 12 hours into the trial period!

  • My tip and experience:

just connect the Varia Vue and your Laptop (which runs VLC) via USB-C Cable from the box and all is there.

I also tried the wireless options. Crap.
