Hello, I'm new varia android app user and I like the simplicity and clarity of the official app. I'm missing one killer feature though - that the app will turn off the phone display (or let the system do it) and turn it back on again when traffic is detected. I ride mostly rural or offroad areas, so i don't encounter much of a traffic and all that time, the lit up display is just wasting battery and it's also distracting. But if the display can come on with all the warnings when a car came out of nowhere on a forrest road, rhat would be super useful, since i have the phone on the handlebars anyway.
I've tried all the other 3rd party apps and none can do that (not to mention that their integration is some narrow, barely visible line on the edge of display...)
