Garmin varia rtl 500 pocket

Hi. Does Anyone knows if I put the rtl 500 radar inside the jersey's pocket if it still works? I know some guys use the rtl 515 like that

Doubtful.

It needs a clear line of sight behind you. Your jersey pocket is going to block that.
