Varia RTL515 error update firmware 3.34 - SOLVED

i’m trying to’ update my varia but easy time it fails. I’ve tryied via Garmin Express and via edge 1040.

With the 1040 the update reach 58% and then in fails

i tryied also to reset the varia pressing 8 seconda the button, but nothing….

any suggestion?

You could try manually placing the files on the unit and see if that works.

The GUPDATE.GCD (you may need to rename it) goes in the Garmin folder and the 6B359306.GCD goes in the RemoteSW folder

GUPDATE.GCD if it did not download with that name.

Finally solved!!! i've checked better and in the main folder there was an hidden file '$TXRAJNL.DAT' of about 1MB (windows did't show it also enabling 'show hidden file'. I used treefilesize to see it…

exactly the same problem, no chance to fix.

If you connect the RTL515 to a PC what do you see in the following folders.

Garmin\ - this should contain the GarminDevice.xml and the SW_INV.FIT file. Remove any other files that are there.

Garmin\RemoteSW - this folder should be empty

The problem was that the memory was quite full and trying to download the update, i got error.

I cancelled that hidden file and then the firmware's update using Edge 1040 was fine!!!!
