New firmware for Varia RTL515

HI, When I connected my Varia RTL515 yesterday to my Garmin Express app, I had a firmware update available to be from version 3.32 to 3.34.

It, in the description it's suppose to help the often connect-disconnect problem.

I connected it to my Edge 1030+ with no problem, but I was beside my bike, which is on trainer.

    The best thing to do is to connect the RTL to a PC and update it using Garmin Express. There is an issue with Edge units trying to update the RTL.

    I suddenly started getting 0:FC a few weeks before the update. Now I'm seeing error 05. Fortunately for me, it does not disconnect and works normally for some time after clearing the error.

    Yes, it keeps failing for me not even getting off 0. Anyone got a fix yet?

    After updating my radar to 3.34 I started having issues with disconnects on my rides. Previously I had perhaps five disconnects in three years of riding with the radar. Thank you Garmin!

    Had sim issue with mine, was good for a short period of time, but then it started throwing up loads of error 0.5 and 0.1 - disconnected it from the 1030 in the end and just let it flash away as am expensive light in the end.

    FWIW:

    GarminExpress on Mac says my RTL515 is up to date. No updates.

    GarminExpress on Windows installed two new updates.

    Don't trust this software, it is buggy beyond belief.

    Same here. Before update I had 1-2 0:FC errors in 90min ride. Today I got 15 times 0:5 I hoped the update will improve my experience, but its opposite...

    1. Restart your Edge 840: Sometimes a simple restart can refresh the device's system and prompt it to check for updates again.

      1. Check for updates manually: Navigate to the settings or system menu on your Edge 840 and manually check for firmware updates. There might be an option to search for updates within the device's settings.

      2. Use desktop software: If the above steps don't work, you can try using Garmin Express on your desktop computer to update the firmware for your Varia RTL515. Connect your Varia device to your computer and open Garmin Express to see if it detects any available updates.

    If none of these solutions work, it might be worth contacting Garmin's customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or insights into why the firmware update is not being recognized by your Edge 840.
