Varia RTL 515 software 3.32 update problems

The Varia software update is bugging me each time I power on my Edge 830. When trying to update I get "Connection lost".

From sensor list I removed the radar sensor and then connected it as a light instead of a radar. With this it finally started to upgrade but it looses connection at 85% [dissconnection happened 5 times in a row]

Edge 830 ver. 9.75

Varia RTL 515 ver. 3.26

GC app ver. 4.67

I don't use Windows. How can I update the darn thing?

There is a Varia phone app that I think will allow you to update it.

Tried it. There is no option for updating.

Are you able to mount the RTL515 to any type of device so that it shows as mass storage

I can mount RTL 515:

ID 091e:20ee Garmin International Varia Rearview Radar

In Garmin folder I see:

GarminDevice.xml REMOTESW SW_INV.FIT

Manual update is probably not possible and Garmin Express is available only for Mac and Win, not Linux.
