Garmin Varia not alerting.

My new Varia is connected to my 1030 and all the settings seem right but I get no alerts for cars as if the radar isn't working at all. Light works but no alerts. Any ideas? Defective?

Is the radar icon showing in the upper right corner of the screen?

it's been a while since I set this up on my 830, but I think there are visual/audible enable options buried in the setup menu

Does it show the side pane on the 1030's display, when cars are approaching?
If yes, then you just have to enable audible alerts in the radar settings on your edge device.
If it doesn't show the side pane, use your warranty right, contact garmin support.

No audible or visual alerts.

looks broken for me, may be a reset will help.
If not, garmin support is your friend.

Did you try to activate demo mode on the varia?
No visual alerts also?

Have you tried phone Varia app? Alternatively you could try BLE Scanner as well to see if there is communication between RTL and other devices. One more thing. When testing connection put your Varia in Demo mode - Device Off, then press and hold power button until it start flashing yellow. It will be third event in series - On, flashing Blue (? for pairing) then flashing yellow. Release button immediately as holding it even longer will shut it down again.
