Varia RVR315 Pair with EPIX2?

I am wondering if a "Varia RVR315" pairs with my EPIX2 and how it looks if it detects cars/someone behind me on the watch? I don't have or plan on buying an edge computer or want to use the varia app. I just usually take my watch and pair my headphones and speed sensor etc.

I really am curious what it looks like or what it does on the watch end.
