I bought a Varia RTL515 & Love it. Currently I'm using it with my iPhone. I don't have a cycling computer & don't find one useful (I just use my Apple Watch to record my metrics.
While I love the radar, I find that I can sometimes miss the notifications. I have the sound turned all the way up & it works well most of the time, but occasionally I won't hear a beep. The display is ok, but I find that if the light is directly overhead, the screen can be hard to see. I understand that one of the garim computers would have a better screen, but the car icons appear much smaller. I'm thinking about adding a garmin watch to my setup, but wonder how it works. I can't find anything that really details how the watch works with the tail light. Does it just show the cars on the screen, or do you also get a vibration/noise when a car is approaching? If you get a vibration, does it give a different vibration when a car is coming vs when the last car passes & it's all clear? Ideally, I'd like to be able to tell what's coming just from the vibrations themselves. If this doens't work, I may look into the Varia Vision, but since it's been cancelled, I think I'd like to try sticking with a current product if possible.
Thanks,
