UT800 - battery replacement

Not sure there's many (or indeed possibly any) that have attempted it, but just reaching out to see if anyone has attempted to replace an aging battery in their UT800 light? Mine is several years old now and the battery seems to be showing it and coupled with not being able to run from a powebank on the fly, is kinda leading it down the road to being replaced, which is just wasteful if all it needs to keep on going is a new 18650 battery (and maybe one with more mAh while it's getting some TLC). Interested to hear from anyone that's given it a go.

  • Based on https://fccid.io/IPH-03086 they opened it from its back side, maybe it would be possible to open it by unscrewing the screws on the front without damaging it. The battery is 1ICR19/66 probaby with an integrated thermistor (yellow wire).

Maybe the better option would be to contact garmin support. I believe they will replace it for a small fee.
