Varia only charges with Garmin cable

So my Varia stopped charging. I may have only charged it initially with Garmin cable that came with it. I’ve only used it a few times so the battery finally ran out. I tried to charge it a couple times and thought it was broken. But I was using 3rd party cables. Once I used the Garmin cable it was fine. And the 3rd party cables weren’t junk. One was anker and one was lezyne and they work fine for other devices including my Garmin edge 530. Whats special about the Varia that it needs a special Garmin cable?

    Nothing special about the cable at all ... I've synced & charged my garmin devices with various cables without a problem.

    I think I’ve sorted out the issue.  At least with my varia it’s sensitive to which usb charger I use. So cable doesn’t seem to be an issue. I had tried charging it with an anker usb charger. Also had a multiple device usb charger. And a iPhone usb charger. None of these have caused issues charging my garmin edge 530. At least the varia does show red when plugged in so I know it’s not going to charge. I tried a dell computer docking station usb charging port and that worked. So I dug up the garmin usb charger so I’ll just have to stick with that and the garmin cable.   Very odd that this is the only device with this issue
