Garmin Varia (radar units) - what are the key differences between different generations?

Greetings all

I only need functionality of the radar part . Also, what I critically needed is reliable and fast connection capability (interaction with a Connect.IQ-applications via ANT+ protocol, no BT really needed).

What is the difference in terms of performance and connectivity (I mean accuracy of detection, delays etc.) between different generations of the Varia radar? E.g. from the early RTL500 to RTL510, RTL515( RVR315 ).

The 500 is horizontal, while all the other units are vertical in design.

The 515/315 have BT connectivity.

The 315 has no light.

I believe that the battery life also improved going from the 500 -> 510 -> 515

Thanks. But what about improvements in radar detection algorithms, data transfer rates, reduced delays etc.?

The 510 i far more sensitive than the 500. I noticed more 'false positives' where cyclists behind me were identified as cars.

The 510 (and I assume 515) is far brighter than the 500.
