Garmin Varia radar light

Having purchased the garmin Varia rear light, very disappointed with mounting options for seat as saddle bag takes up space on seat post.

Having purchased various smaller saddle bags, still can't position light high enough to be effective.

£160.00 light held on with a rubber band!!

Various 3d extended saddle mounts purchased all prove to be the wrong design to position light.

 Poor effort Garmin....

  • Yes, it is definitelly Garmin's fault that you have a saddle bag on your seatpost. Most of the lights are mounted by rubber bands, only *** chinese ones have some crappy plastic holder that is in most cases completely useless.

There is plenty of quarter turn mounts on the market, so it is just your choice what you will use.

  • Why don't you simply use a storage bottle in your cage, then you won't need to use a bag, therefore freeing up room on your seat post?

  • But you only realized it (your seat bag) could be a problem after you bought the Varia Radar? Your imagination didn't tell you that it might be a problem, because the RTL generally is a long device for something that mounts to a seatpost.
Well - now you can blame yourself - there are dozens of reviews and video reviews of this device on the Internet - you can see what size it is, what is included and how to mount it.

  • This forum is full of people they blame Garmin for their poor decisions. Like the guy that bought Edge 1030 Plus and then he realized that sunlight readable display has not so crisp colors and brightness than his newest iPhone OR people that don't want to be beta testers for Garmin, so they switched to Karoo 2 that is still in Beta phase OR the guy that is basically blaming Garmin that he is not able to attach Garmin's light to some old Garmin mounts or to his super aero handlebars for which you have to buy a special mount from 3rd part company.
