Varia 515 and Edge 520+

I recently bought both devices and have tried to find out how to use the 515 in radar only mode (as mentioned by some reviews) I have tried pairing and unpairing to the Edge 520+ but it only seems to identify as radar even when searching for "lights". If I push the Varia button 4 times so that the light turns off (but the Bt blue led is still flashing) then the Edge immediately disconnects. Did Garmin decide to remove the Radar only option and if so what is the #5 button push for?? If I try to pair in that mode then nothing is discovered. Both devices are using latest software.

After numerous attempts I got the Edge 520 to link to the Varia 515 in LIGHTS mode which then allowed remote control of the 4 light modes Unfortunately the radar feature didn't work anymore! I turned both devices OFF then ON again and the LIGHTS mode had disaapeared! Looks like Garmin have missed a bug in their firmware OR perhaps my brand-new Varia RL515 is faulty?? Additionally the Edge 520+ seems unable to read the battery condition when that option is selected as a data screen field.( The field just shows a ?)
