How to set Varia UT800 to night flash from Garmin Edge 830?

Hello

i am new user for the VARIA UT800 , at night it turn to solid light in Auto mode and i dont see any way to set it up to night flash because i do not need all that light since i am riding in moderately lit streets.

would you please guide how to make that like a default for auto mode or any other mode

I have the same problem with Edge 1040, and the link that Dan_S posted doesn’t help. The problem is that the light should stay on flash mode when the day turns to night, but instead, it goes into solid mode and unless you press the physical buttons on the light itself, there is no way to set the light to night flash from the edge device.

You can change the light mode on the Edge device but it involves pressing a lot of buttons. Go into settings, light network, and change from automatic to individual. Then you can select a light and switch the mode to whatever you want.

I second this recommendation for the Smart Bike Lights from Connect IQ. This app and webpage for setting things up puts you in control of how your light behaves and the datafield shows you the status on the Edge. There is a learning curve to understanding the logic, but it makes sense once you go through it a couple times. Plus you can reach out to the app developer and he'll give you the input code you need based on what you tell him you want the light to do.
