I have been using the device for some years now, but I have never really got it to behave stable when it comes speed adjustment and focus.
I'm using it with an Edge 1000 (and a RTL511 rear radar/light), and the settings are all on 'Auto'. It appears that it's reading the ambient light settings correct, because it flashes during daytime, and when the display on the Edge1000 goes into 'nightmode' the headlight switches to a continuous light beam. When I speed up, the beam focuses 'up', but it never stays on the upmost position, only to alternate every second between the highest next-to-highest focus. This regardless of how fast i go. It's of course wildly annoying and I have been close to throwing the device into the woods several times. It has been behaving correctly a few times, but I cannot see any correlation between the circumstances when this occurs. Removing it from the light network and adding it again does not fix the problem - at least not deterministically.
Any one else having similar issues with this setup?
Varia Headlight HL500 software is v.2.5 and Edge 1000 software is 15.40. The problem has persisted through a lot of software versions, though.
