Really glad to have my Varia. A friend of mine got struck by a hit and run driver a few days ago. He is ok but was not able to get the license plate of the car that hit him. Most of the states that I ride in require cars to have from license plates. A camera built into the Varia would be a great upgrade. It doesn't have to be a full on action cam, just something good enough to record approaching vehicles.
I agree, this would be a really useful feature, especially if there was an option to only recorded when it detected a vehicle.
Battery life may be an issue though so the ability for user-replaceable batteries…
Fly6 is what you need. A Fly6 with a radar even better. If Garmin bought Cycliq it just could happen. Until then it's a Fly6 and Fly12 and Varia RVR315 for me.

On my Sworks Tarmac they both fit on the seat post below a small saddle bag. For my old Cannondale I made an extra post from 20mmPVC pipe, a modified 90 degree metal bracket and mounted it on the brake installation bolt. The radar is lower than Garmin instructions recommend but it works fine. I can give detailed instructions if interested. Please don't mess with the brake mount unless you know what you're doing!
