I don't usually use my Cyclo-cross bike with either my radar or front light. I have a Cyclo-cross profile on my Edge. However before I leave home my computer manages to connect and turn them all on unless I move them right to the back of the garden.
Once upon a time sensors were actually linked to profiles on Edge units, whilst the pool idea is better couldn't there be a way of avoiding automatic connections?
