I just got a UT800. I used the included out-front mount to mount the light on my road bike. I am looking for a neat solution to mount the light on my tri-bike that will allow me to quickly switch the light without having to use tools.
To use the light, you "permanently"mount the included "friction flange to quarter-turn adapter" to the UT800. This is the adapter that mounts to the bottom of the out-front mount. This allows you to quickly remove the light from the bike for charging, etc. I am looking for a similar mounting option for my tri bike. I can't use the out-front mount on the tri bike. It has to hang underneath the aero bars. This means it will be 90 degrees rotated from a mount that mounts to a handle bar tube, like the out-front mount. (Handle bar is perpendicular to the bike, the aero bars are in-line with the bike)
Garmin makes a large tube mount for the Virb but it appears that to use that, I will need to swap the friction flange mount on the UT800 every time I want to swap bikes. And I can't tell if it will allow a 90 degree rotation.
I'm essentially looking for a mount like the large tube mount that can be used to directly mount the UT800/flange adapter.
If anyone has experience with this kind of setup, please provide insight. If you don't have experience with this, I'm sure this post sounds very confusing :)
