First ride Varia radar - problems

Just got back from my first ride and it was not as expected

Cars showed on the display only seconds before overtaking me.

With buses it worked much better. Showing up early/from a distance

it’s a RTL511 paired with a Wahoo ELEMNT

any advice/thoughts ?

Check the mounting of the radar. It should be placed in a vertical position and above the height of the wheel.

What was the terrain like? Flat roads or rolling hills?

Were you in a bunch ride? Were there cyclists behind you?
