Is the Vira Vison worth it?

So i can get a hold of one for $200 but, is it worth it or just a toy? I do like toys but should I spend money elsewhere?
  • 200$ for a new one ?

My edge 520 is dead a few days ago ; i have a fenx 5S, wondering if i should buy an Edge 820 or a Varia Vision (?)
  • The person claims it is new but you always take a gable on second hand items. I was thinking the same thing... maybe just use my fenix 5x and vision though I do like my edge 1030
  • i have been using a vision with a 935 for several years now and love it. I find it far less distracting to glance at the vision vs looking down at a screen on the handle bars. I also use the radar--all works together very well. I failed to charge it a few days ago and felt really uncomfortable riding without it. I hope they update it at some point, but for its purpose it works very well as is.
  • IMO, the best feature is the Vision's vibration alerts when used with the radar. I do not miss any alerts due to wind/road noise.

For that price, absolutely. Especially if you use a radar. One thing to note - I purchased one 2nd hand on ebay without any parts. The charger *IS* proprietary and will run you another 20 if you find a good deal. Also the mounts will run around 20 I think.
I figured I'd only use it on the road with the radar, but I use it for mountain biking all the time now. I can actually make good use of my heart rate and watts, as it can be difficult to (safely) glance down and locate the field you're looking for while riding technical singletrack.
