Varia RTL510 Alerts for all cyclists following...is this normal?

Hi Folks

My Varia RTL510 goes off as cyclists approach from rear, or follow me, making me think I've a vehicle coming...anyone else have this and is it a 'standard feature' ?

It's a know behavior ... many people are experiencing it.

As for whether it's a 'standard feature', that's debatable.

I like it alerting on fast approaching cyclists? But I think I'm in the minority since I usually ride with just my SO or solo - so if some Actual Fit Person comes speeding up on my rear I try to be mindful of it!

I think it'd be nicer if the radar units could provide qualified alerts based on the signal returns (BIG THING!! little thing!), and the head units could filter out "little thing!" as needed, but I'm not sure the radar can differentiate that well?

hi all,
I confirm that I see also cyclists, electrical scooters, actually I see any "something" that approach from behind at a greater speed than mine.

this is the advertised behaviour and works.

yes could be nice to have a "big...small" indication, but I doubt it is feasible.

I am amazed when 15% of the bikers, moto or no, announce a MUP pass.

I find this a valuable feature

That's why god gave me a frame pump, too. Ciao.
