Can I request that Garmin, via a firmware update, allow the UT800 to be charged while in use? I love the light and it’s smart features, and also how well it hides out the way under my Edge 1030, but now that I’m turning my attention to ultra distance riding it just doesn’t have the battery life I need. I could of course buy a new light that allows this but I could really do without the extra expense, and I’m really happy with the light. FWIW my Varia RTL 510 can be charged while in use, so hopefully a firmware update is all that would be required to allow the UT800 to do the same.
Recently invested in a UT800 and found myself high and dry and in the dark with 5k to get back to town on unlit roads. So I'm +1 for charging on the fly to extend the run time.
Alternatively, or additionally, adding the ability (in app) to adjust bracketing of the speeds at which the brightness is automatically adjusted would be welcome e.g. the speed at which it currently goes to highest output is arguably overly cautious, meaning it bumps to 800 lumens just riding along when 400 lumens would still be apt. 800 is great to have descending or when things get quick on the flat, but as it is it begins eating battery too early for me.
