Varia display at night time

Could someone tell me if your paired to a Garmin head unit (520) and the radar detects a car at night, does it 'wake up' the head unit ie bring the back light on so you can see the display? If not how do others solve this problem riding at night?

I can't answer your question on it turning on the backlight. I always keep the backlight on at night, that way it will beep and you can see it on the screen where the car is.

Thanks Brian, it seems it doesn't I did first night ride with it the other night and like yourself just left backlight on 10%, worked a treat, although car headlamps bouncing off trees, road signage is usually seen at about same time as varia picks car up. unfortunately my ears won't pick ups the beep. Will be even more useful during the day, impressive kit :)
