Hi all, just taken delivery of my new Giant TCR and when I've gone to install the varia seatpost mount I obviously can't because of the D shaped tube...
Anyone know of a garmin mount for this tube or a trick round it?
I have the D-Fuse seat post. Mounting with the supplied kit, with the adaptor sitting flush into the mount, the radar unit is pointed downwards. The distance in picking up vehicles is shortened. I turned the adaptor upside down but it won't sit completely flush into the mount. Then the radars angle is a little better, more vertical position. Now it will pick up vehicles from much farther out. Take note: mount like this at your own risk. I don't find the rubber rings that secure (use the smaller rubber ring). I zip tied both ends of the rubber ring to pull them together. Thus making it harder to slip off the mount edges.
These lens cap lanyards work great with the Garmin lights. Stick them to the back of the light and loop the lanyard around your seat post or seat rails for extra security.
Thanks for the replies, I've used the 'Aero' mounting kit and while not a perfect fit, it does work. I'm just not convinced it is the most secure it could be. I used the aero mounting kit on my TT bike and it seemed to site a lot neater and be more secure. I guess I'll have another look and may introduce some sort of secondary safety.
