Varia Light Battery Life

Hi All,
Just wondering what people's real world experience of battery life is for the RTL510.
I've got the older Varia, RTL500, and I get around 6-7 hours during the day. I don't really ride much at night these days.
I've got some longer day rides coming up, so am thinking of upgrading to the RTL510.

The website claims:

Battery life: 6 hours solid, 6 hours night flash, 15 hours day flash
Lumens: 20 solid, 29 night flash, 65 day flash

So, you would think day flash shouldn't last as long as night flash.
If they have the battery life for day and night flash back to front, then there's not much point in me upgrading.

Thoughts?

I don't have my light handy, but what's the pattern of the lights in night flash vs. day flash?

If the light is on longer when in night flash, it could account for less battery life.

Night flash is a pulse so it is on all the time, day flash is a strobe.

peterlip8_, I get the numbers that Garmin is claiming I really like the day flash it's visible from far out :)

I ran the 510 for 14 hours straight on a 225 mile ride. It lasted the entire time on Day Flash Mode.

Is there a way to force the light into night mode? I have it paired with a Edge Explore which (is suspected) does not have a light sensor. So far it always shows day flash on the status whether or not it’s dark

Updating my own post. I’ve found via another post that by putting the light into Individual mode rather than Auto it is then possible to manually select Night Mode, Day Flash, Low and Off.
