RTL510 Won't turn on reliably

After initially working perfectly for a few rides, yesterday I started having issues with my RTL510 which I've only had for just over week.

Pressing the button for a second won't turn it on. However, holding it for two seconds will put it into pair mode (indicating the button is ok). Resetting the device (hold button for 8 seconds) seems to restore functionality, allowing me to pair it and use it but after I turn it off the same issue happens again.

Has anyone got any suggestion before I get it replaced?
  • Well it got to the point where I couldn't get it to work at all. Chainreaction are sending me a replacement. I'll chalk this up as a random early life failure.

Was acting up after I plugged it in for an update. Pressing button and turning it on now, lights up solid but its blinking pink/purple on the side. If I press it again then it turns blinking blue. Then it will work. Also before when I turned unit on, the audio alerts can be heard. Now after turning on the display unit I have to press it a second time to get audio alerts. Better than not working at all I guess.

  • Robert,
I've now got my replacement and it is working perfectly. The first one was definitely faulty, it worked perfectly for a few days and then started behaving in the manner described above. I've not read of any similar failures so I'm guessing I was just unlucky.
