UT800 speed or light sensitivity customisation

Hello
Does anyone know if it's possible to customise the sensitivity to ambient light that in turn set flash/low/high settings? during afternoon/evening rides the light seems to turn from flash to low too early when it's not even that dark..
Also speed, can you adjust the speed that controls when the high beam turns on?
Light is paired with 1030
Thanks
Mark
  • yes would be cool to have as during normal cycling I always go above 28K/h on average so the light is always at 800lumen so it nearly holds 1 hour in this mode. I would like to customize the speed as well.
  • Just a thought here.....There one possible work-around but it has its disadvantages. The Edge will always choose to use a speed sensor over GPS speed if it's present. So you set your circumference of your wheel much smaller than it is actually. I haven't tried it and I don't know how small you can set your wheel circumference. Obviously, your speed and distance metrics will be way off. To compensate for where you want the light (reduced intensity) to be at speed, you have to aim the light a little higher. But you'll risk blinding oncoming riders/drivers when/if it switches to full intensity.

  • This does not work with the new sensors as they don’t work with a magnet in the spokes. Hope Garmin wil fix it in firmware.
  • I disagree. Either speed sensor works by sending the wheels RPM data to the head unit. It then uses the circumference of the wheel (which you can set) to calculate your speed. It does not matter how the RPM is relayed to the head unit. One uses a magnet and other uses an accelerometer.
