Hi,
I am not sure if the update installs correctly on my Varia 501. What I did:
- Varia Switched off, connected to PC by USB cable. Garmin Express starts and tells me 2 updates available: to 3.4 and to 3.8.
- I select 3.8 and click upgrade.
- Garmin Express says copying files and afterwards "Update complete".
- Disconnect Varia from USB. At that Point, Varia is off, and nothing happens. Status LED off.
- I Switch on Varia 501, and the red lights start lighting up slowly from left to right, like it wants to Show probably an Installation process.
- after that, unit is off again, no light on, Status LED off.
- I Switch on Varia 501, all red lights start shining, and Status LED blinks purple. This remains like this forever.
- only way to stop purple LED blinking is press power to Switch Varia off.
- afterwards, unit works if I Switch it on, connects to Edge 1000 and Edge 1000 says in sensor info Software is 3.8
When I now re-connect to PC with USB, it still Shows me update available to 3.4. Why should I do an upgrade to 3.4 if I already have 3.8 installed? And is this strange step in the update process to have a frozen unit with Status LED blinking purple normal? To me, this Looks like a hang up or failed update, especially since Garmin Express tells me afterwards that an upgrade to 3.4 is available. On the other Hand, Edge tells me Version would be 3.8... Am I doing anything wrong here in the update process?
