Red LED during charging

I have just the varia rear radar unit. Things have been fine except suddenly when I attempt to charge the unit the LED flashes green twice then goes red and the unit will not accept a charge. I have tried different USB cables and confirm that they are providing a good power source. The charging attempt is being done at normal room temperature.

Any suggestions on what to try next?

My gut says it's a hardware problem ... I would suggest contacting Garmin.

It is a hardware problem. I had the same issue and Garmin sent a refurbished replacement. I would contact support and see what they will do for you.

Thanks -- I kinda figured that but was hoping for some miracle button press combination would resolve it. Called Garmin and they sent out a refurbished replacement for free, despite my being long out of warranty. Sometimes I complain about the buggy firmware updates, but I gotta say customer support is excellent.
