Has there been any update to the problem from Garmin? Since I purchased the Vision unit, I have not been able to use it yet due to the 3.9 software bug. I got my Vision about 2 week ago and would like to try it out but cannot due to the data field problems in 3.90
Suppose I should have read these posts before I bought the Varia Vision for my Edge 1030. Having the same issue. I spent the time mapping all the Edge Sensor screen settings on the 1030 to what actually appears on the Vision when selected. There are several that I cannot figure out as they are not labeled on the Vision and appear blank on the Edge 1030 screen. Of course the oen item I am looking for "Speed" doesn't map to anything on the 1030. Highly frustrated and about ready to go back to the old Edge 510 which was reliable at least.
TO THE GARMIN TEAM. ANY FIXES TO THIS YET? BEEN A MONTH SINCE REPORTED. MAYBE PUSH OUT VERSION 3.8 AGAIN SINCE THAT WORKED WITH THE VARIA VISION. I'D LIKE TO USE MY $700 WORTH OF EQUIPMENT I PURCHASED FROM YOU.
Hey Everyone, I too bought the 1030 and the Varia Vision and updated to 3.9 and 3.5 and the vision showed the same symptoms with the data screen on the 1030 not matching what showed on the Vision. In the 1030 forum there is a Sticky post that has the 3.85 beta software. I tried that and it did not work either. But in the Beta zip there is a backup of the 3.8 version of the software. I put that on my 1030 and have gotten it working. Kind of sucks that Garmin isn't making this easier for us. I hope it helps the rest of you to get your Vision working while we seems to wait aimlessly for some news from Garmin when we can expect an update.
Unless Garmin comes out with a fix in the next week, I am planning to return my unit. I tried to call their support line and waited 45 minutes before I lost my connection on the cell. I have had my unit for about 3-4 weeks and have not been able to use it yet.
It's a bloody shame that this isn't fixed after 2 months. We spend a lot of money and Garmin doesn't do anything. I will be writing a letter to all the bicycle magazines and websites here in Europe to rapport this issue and the low priority and communication of this problem by Garmin.
