Varia Radar firmware 3.60 compatiblity?

PLEASE NOTE: You must update your Edge device and Radar Display Unit to maintain compatibility with the Radar Tail Light.

The new firmware of the radar tail light indicates that you must upgrade your edge device to maintain compatibility ... upgrade it to what?

There are no recent firmware releases for any Edge devices that I can see (at least within the past few days).

I think it would be good if the folks posting the firmware updates indicated the head unit firmware version requirements.

Apologies for any confusion. The notice is intended to make sure users keep their Edge device on the most current firmware available and not intended to point to a newer version required for this update. Thank you for reaching out.

I don't suppose we could get a bit more detail on what the actual changes are?

LED control improvements
Modified ANT related shutdown behavior.
Minor bug fixes

For me only the Varia Radar light was updated to V3.60. There was no updating of the RDU. There appears to be no software on the light waiting to be transferred to the RDU.

Can anyone confirm this?

Has anybody of you seen improvements with the new Firmware Version?
Unfortunately Garmins developers seem to to be the best communicators :)

I received a response to my e-mail. The update 3.40 -> 3.60 applies ONLY to the Varia Radar rear lamp. The RDU remains on 3.40. (To me that also implies no changes to the supported devices if they are on the latest firmwares).

Firmware 3.6 is not working properly with Edge 1000 - manual selection of light mode (shutdown / continuous / flashing selection) is faulty. Go back to 3.4 and everything works fine.

Seems to be working fine for me. In what way is it faulty?
