What software version do you have on both products?
I think 3.30 is the latest for the HMD (Varia Vision) as well as the Fenix 5x.
You no what, I did a SW upload when I got the toy, two days ago but I did notice that it powers up with V2.6 and you are right, the latest is 3.3. Let me try to update. Thanks very much. My f5x is at 3.3. I shall report back :)
I was very hopeful, unfortunately I still dont get the pop ups for tbt. I updated from 2.6 to 3.3 and confirmed that 3.3 was displayed. The popup comes up on the watch but not on the varia. I tried power cycling both but no cigar. If you have any additional thoughts please share. It looks like there is much settings on the varia (other then through the f3 for always on and someother thing) so I may have a setting on the f3 for nav which isnt correct. Who knows. Again if you can think of anything else please share, I was hoping to get it working before a ride tomorrow but maybe not. Thanks again.

So after some playing around I got the tbt on the watch but am unable to get the pop up on the Vision. I have the following set up, if someone has it working and can spot an issue with my settings please let me know.
I have 3.3 on both the 5x and Vision.
In my bike app, under "Routing" I have activity=cycle, Course=Use Map, Cal Method=Min Dist, Avoidace=All under Maps/Configure I have World=on, topo=off, cycle=on, on Use system settings=on
In settings/navigation data screens/ map=on, data field=on guide=off elevation plot=on all four screens=off
Heading Bug=off Alerts/final distance=off, final ete=off
After updating vision from 2.6 to 3.3 I tried removing sensor and re-pairing, tried multiple power cycles on both, still no popup for TBT
