varia headlights

any one knows how to connect Varia Headlights to an external battery (powerbank) and have lights on (if it's possible?)

I always have a powerbank on me and sometimes forget to charge my lights... plugging the powerbank to the light seemed to be the obvious thing to do when low on battery, but it seems the varia headlight can either charge OR light, but cannot do both at the same time...

so once the light is dead I'm left with no light and a full source of energy I cannot use... :(

or is there a trick to it?
  • No trick available. You cannot charge and have the light function at the same time with the current 2.50 firmware.

    well... that's a shame :( thanks.
  • Yes it's really a shame. I'm afraid it's a conception issue that a firmware won't be able to solve :(

GlmParis, you can maybe edit the title of this thread with "Varia headlights and external power supply" in order to make search easier ?

good suggestion, wish I could, but I don't see how... :(
  • Try the “Go Advanced” button in the post editor (it defaults to the simple editor). Naturally, only you can edit your posts so none of us can do it for you.

    title edited and suggestions sent!

thanks for the help guys! :) hopefully Garmin can do something...

I'm really considering switching to a normal set of light now that can use external power now: I really have big issues keeping the batteries charged since my commute is 45mn long and now it's dark in the morning AND at night... between phone, edge 820, varia radar, varia headlights, a Vivoactive HR and a couple other devices, that a LOT of devices and I have issues keeping track of what needs charging!
