Varia Headlamp auto beam adjust problem

Hello all
I have an edge 520 with varia head and tail lights. The problem i'm having is that the headlamp will only flash. It pairs with the 520 and auto switches on and off but I have no auto beam adjust with speed. It just flashes. Garmin have replaced the light but the new one is the same and when I asked their tech support about it they didn't know what it will and wont do when paired with a 520. I have read on this forum that people are using the headlamp with a 520 and getting auto beam adjust as speed increases. All software is up to date. I've removed and re-paired all my sensors (Lights, speed, cadence) but still the same.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
  • I suspect that your light network is set to "Auto" or maybe "High-Viz".

If it is set to "High-Viz" then that will put the headlight in flashing mode.
If it is set to "Auto" then the behavior will change based on the time of day. Flashing in the day and high at night. When in high mode it should then adjust the beam angle based on speed.

You can also put the headlight into individual control.

Have look under sensors -> lights and see how it is set-up.
