Maria Vision locked into manufacturer's setup pages

Well, my Varia Vision arrived yesterday. It looks great and fits the sunglasses nicely. However, it only shows me the manufacturer's setup pages.

These are quite interesting, showing voltages during charge, I can test the touch levels, check the memory even test the motor. I can cycle through the video display test pages and I can check the 3-Axis accelerometer function. The light meter is cool if I knew how I could test Ant+ functions. The main data page says everything seems to be working normally.

Unfortunately, I can't get into the normal function pages. I have tried every combination of press of the power switch, side bar with and without the power cable that I can think of.

Does anyone know how to get into these pages (might be interesting for someone) and more importantly, how I can out of them?
  • I have not seen the marine version of this product, but you might be able to do a complete re-set of the unit by.

1.Press power key to turn on device
2.Countdown 5 seconds after first vibration (Display on)
3.Then press and hold power key until unit it vibrates
4.Keep holding power key until unit vibrates again
5.Then release the power key, unit will then perform a non-vol clear and reboot.

    Brilliant

Sorry about the typo and autocorrect errors in the original post. I really should have proof read it.

Thanks for the reply. I have just carried out your instructions and it now seems to work perfectly. No wonder I didn't manage this with random button presses.

Interestingly, I was able to phone Garmin Support later today. They answered quickly and promised to look into the problem. They have now emailed me to say that the unit must be faulty and I should return it for replacement. (I ordered the original from them).

I will now contact them with the outcome of your reset instructions and hopefully I now have a fully functional unit.

I will repost if they tell me it still needs to go back.
