Use Wireless Remote Control from Edge 1000 for varia

Is there a way to use the Wireless Remote Control i got with the Edge 1000 to switching on/of the Varia headlight?

There is an Edge remote and a Varia remote. To operate the lights via the remote you need the Varia remote..

The Edge remote will not do it..

Yes, there is a remote but it takes over all of the management from the Edge 1000. You loose all the smart features like autobrightness and the speed related adjustments to the headlight angle/taillight flashing etc. I bought a kit with the remote thinking it would be better to have the remote close to my hands for adjusting the lights but the way it had been setup it criples the light network. I've taken it off the bike.

It's that I dislike the Edge remote and wanted to put it to good use with the lights. But as I understand even that is no good.
