I have worked with Garmin USA about this issue, they´r conclusion was clear, the unit need to be replaced. As i currently lives in Thailand, they told me to contact Garmin Thailand. They was not able to help, and sent me to ESRI Thailand. ESRI never answered my request, and today i received a email from garmin Thaiwan. They want me to send the unit to Thaiwan for service, telling me i have to cover the freight and eventually taxe´s to get it back to Thailand.
My advice, if you live in asia, do NOT buy any Garmin product, the "service" do NOT exist here.
