Varia Radar 3.00 and Edge 520 V3.10: no radar

Today I updated my Varia Radar to version 3.00 and the Edge 520 to version 3.10. This doesn't solve my problem. I could not use the radar sensor. The varia is connected to the edge. The connect symbol top right is shown, but no vehicle column. color overlay: on, vehicle colum: right, tones: on. The varia status led shows green during switch on and switches to off after start. So there should be no varia failure.

In demo mode the vehicle column is shown as expected. What now? Sending the device back? The garmin support says update should solve the problem, but they didn't say which versions may solve the problem.

    That is strange as 3.00 should contain the fix that was in 2.41.

    With build 3.10 you need to have the Varia registered both as a sensor and as part of the light network. Do you have it showing up in the sensor list? If not try adding it.

    Thanx for reply. I have added light sensor, but no difference. Enabling demo mode shows a new behaviour: the vehicle column is only shown if there are cars approaching. After passing there the column on the right is shown a short time with a green button. Then the vehicle column disapears completly, only the radar symbol top left continues.

    I think this is a problem of my test: it won't work inhouse without any real car. I have to go out and repeat the test.

    It finally works!

    Yeah, it works. Only tested on walking for now (it's night, raining and 2 degrees Celsius outside).

    No, car: only the radar symbol on top right is shown.
    Car approaching: alarm sound pieping, vehicle column shows the moving car.

    There is a small difference: if I am moving, the color overlay is shown additional to the vehicle column. But if I does not move, only the vehicle column is visible (no color overlay).

    Summary: to test the radar I have to move forward with real cars approaching. Without any real car the traffic column is not visible.

    Varia RTL 501 with V3.00, Edge 520 with V3.10

    Had the same problem - updated both the Varia & Edge 1000 units. Now the radar/traffic column won't display....
