Varia disconnect

Why - when you turn off the Varia to save power - at a stop, for example, when you come to switch it back on, the 1000 or the 520 is unble to look for it and to reconnect again - so that you need to access the menu and disable/enable to get it all working again.

Is there a good reason for this?

    edge1000 v5.10 can on/off LED.

    Why would you turn the Varia Radar off ??? The battery is good for probably 8-10 hours. Turn it on for your ride and then turn it off when you finish riding. Then charge it.

    After 4 hour+ rides I still had more than 50% power on the Radar.

    What firmware do you have on your Radar ?

    There is a known issue with v2.00. Here is a line from the Release Notes of firmware v2.20

    ◦ Made improvements to ANT+ connection stability when connecting to Edge 1000.

    Myself, I had connection problems with 2.00 where it would lose the connection during a ride. THe way to get it back was to go into the Sensor settings, disable the Varia, enable it and then it would reconnect and start working again...

    I'm using the latest firmware and I have had no disconnection problems during a ride. In fact, so far I'm extremely pleased with the Varia. It works very well and the level of comfort I draw from it is surprising me.

    My only gripe is that my 1000 or a 520 can't find it again during a ride if it has been switched off. In that case, you have to disable/renable the sensor.
    It's a nuisance with the 1000 touchscreen and with the 520 it's a real PITA

    I expect that it is an Edge problem and not a Varia problem
