Light network issue

I have the headlight and rear radar and they will not connect together on my 1000. Anyone figure it out? Everything was charged and checked for the latest update prior to paring. The headlight and radar keep kicking each other out of the varia light network.

    Dr. Kyle

I'm having the same problems with Edge 1000. It will not keep both the headlight and the Radar taillight connected. Hope Garmin gets a fix soon.
  • There was an Edge 1000 5.10 release today to address this.

    • Added support for Varia Smart Bike Lights. Now you can form a network of lights including head lights, tail lights, and a rearview radar tail light.
    • Added the ability to edit crank length for PowerTap P1 pedals.
    • Fixed an issue where the totals for custom activity profiles would be erased after a software update.
    • Fixed an issue where auto lap distance, auto pause speed, alert distances, and virtual partner speed would revert back to default values after a software update.
    • Fixed an issue where segments would randomly not start.
    • Fixed an issue where courses would sometimes not start at a point along the course but away from the start location.
    • Improved device performance with many segments loaded.
  • Just out of curiosity, is there a white paper or similar document somewhere that describes how the various Garmin lights in a network work together? For example, can I use the radar rear unit together with the other Varia rear lights? To use the radar unit with the other rear lights and be able to use the turn indicator do I need three units - the radar and two rear lights? Confused!
