Hi JackSDunn What software version are the pedals on? have you tried new batteries? or try removing the batteries for 5 minutes then try again?
Software is version 4.1, Batteries were removed for 5 min, same issue. Will get new batteries, however, the question remains, does anyone know what the 1280 error code indicates?
if you are getting error code 1280, please reach out to your locale's support at support.garmin.com
I have done that and they did not seem to know what the error code was. I will continue to discuss with them. Thanks.

I get this error too... sometimes its 1280, sometimes it is 1285... And sometimes it does the calibration without any problems... Czech support guided me to start logging what is my Edge doing, but when i did that, then it worked for a month without those errors... And when the error occured again i was and still am too lazy to deal with it... But also im a reaaaaal amateur rider, so i really dont care too much about the accuracy of the watts.
Error code 1280 is a relatively common error in the context of computer hardware and software, especially in scenarios involving calibration. However, it's essential to know the specific context or software/hardware you are dealing with to provide precise troubleshooting steps Mapquest Driving Directions.
the error code of 1280 is a sum of 256+1024. They are powers of 2
256 - Calibration in Progress on right pedal - Calibration already in progress
1024 - Calibration aborted due to pedaling on right pedal - Make sure pedals are stationary and under no load
I am always doing the calibration when the bike is stationary with my shoes unclipped... so this makes no sense :)
it does seem to point to the right pedal specifically. have you checked power of the battery on that side and replaced it if needed? when I get calibration errors, i give the cranks a few rotations and try again.
